What we do — pitched roofs, shingle and metal
We install and replace shingle and metal roofing on commercial and light commercial buildings with pitched roofs. That includes shops, offices, churches, and multi-unit residential. The materials are the same ones we use on homes — asphalt shingle, standing seam metal, and exposed-fastener metal — applied to buildings where the roof is pitched and takes those systems.
We want to be specific about scope, because it matters. This is pitched-roof work in shingle and metal. If your commercial building has a pitched roof that takes one of those systems, we can help. If it doesn't, we'd rather tell you that plainly than imply a capability we don't offer — and we'll point you toward the kind of contractor who can.
Metal and shingle roofing on commercial buildings
A pitched commercial roof takes the same materials a home does, and the decision between shingle and metal comes down to the same factors. Asphalt shingle is the familiar, cost-effective choice and works well on offices, churches, and multi-unit residential where a traditional look fits. Standing seam metal offers a longer service life and sheds snow readily, which matters on a pitched commercial roof in this valley. Exposed-fastener metal is a practical choice for shops, barns, and outbuildings where value matters more than a concealed-fastener finish.
On any of these, the work is the same as on a home done right: a proper tear-off down to a solid deck, underlayment and ice barrier at the eaves where the roof is vulnerable to freeze-thaw, sound flashing at every penetration and wall, and ventilation assessed so the roof lasts. The building may be commercial, but the craft isn't cut-rate.
Scheduling around a working business
A commercial roof isn't just a bigger residential roof — it sits on a building that's open for business, with customers, staff, deliveries, and operations that can't simply stop. Scheduling around that is part of the job. We plan the work to minimize disruption: we coordinate access points, keep entrances and walkways clear where we can, phase portions of the job when the building needs to stay open, and talk through timing and noise with you before we start.
The goal is a roof done right without your business grinding to a halt while it happens. We can't promise it'll be invisible — a roof replacement is a construction project — but we can and do plan it so the disruption is managed, not dumped on you.
What a commercial estimate includes
You get a written scope of work, the materials we recommend and the reasoning behind them, the tear-off and disposal if it's a replacement, any decking or substrate repair the inspection turns up, underlayment and ice barrier at the eaves where they apply, flashing, ventilation, and cleanup. The price is the price — you'll know what it is and what's behind it before any work starts.
Estimates are free. We come out, get on the roof, and tell you what we see and what it would take to fix or replace it. You decide from there, with the information in writing.
Working with property managers and building owners
We work with both building owners and property managers. For an owner, the conversation is direct — your roof, your building, your decision. For a property manager overseeing one or several properties, we provide the written scopes and clear communication you need to make decisions and report to owners, boards, or tenants.
The process is the same either way. You get a clear scope, a clear price, and a job done with attention to detail and daily cleanup. We're not the biggest commercial roofing operation in the valley, and we don't pretend to be — but for pitched-roof commercial buildings taking shingle or metal, the work gets done right, and you deal with Tessa & Joseph Stremel directly.

Frequently asked
What kind of commercial roofing do you do?
Shingle and metal roofing on commercial and light commercial buildings with pitched roofs — shops, offices, churches, and multi-unit residential. We install and replace standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofing, and asphalt shingle roofing, on these building types. If your building has a pitched roof and takes shingle or metal, we can help.
Can you work around my business hours?
Yes. Scheduling around a working business is part of commercial work. We plan the job to minimize disruption to your customers, your staff, and your operations, and we coordinate access, parking, and noise with you ahead of time. Some portions of a job can be phased to keep entrances and walkways clear.
Do you work with property managers and building owners?
Both. We work directly with building owners and with property managers who oversee multiple properties. We provide written scopes and clear communication so you can make decisions and report to owners, boards, or tenants as needed. The process is the same either way — you get a clear scope, a clear price, and a job done with attention to detail.
What does a commercial estimate include?
A written scope of work, the materials we recommend and why, the tear-off and disposal if it's a replacement, any decking or substrate repair, underlayment and ice barrier at the eaves where applicable, ventilation, flashing, and cleanup. You'll know the price and what's behind it before any work starts. Estimates are free.
Do you do metal roofing on commercial buildings?
Yes. Standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofing both have a place on commercial and light commercial buildings — shops, barns, outbuildings, and multi-unit residential with pitched roofs. Metal stands up well to the Flathead Valley's winters on a pitched roof. See our standing seam and exposed-fastener pages for the specifics of each system.
How do I know if my building is a fit for what you do?
If your commercial building has a pitched roof that takes shingle or metal — standing seam or exposed-fastener — it's a fit. We install and replace those systems on shops, offices, churches, and multi-unit residential. If you're not sure what your roof is, we'll come out, get on it, and tell you plainly whether it's work we do.
